FAQs: Apple Intelligence, Siri and the AI race
Not exactly. Apple Intelligence uses language and vision models, but it’s tightly integrated into the operating system rather than exposed as a single chat interface. Siri can hand off to models like ChatGPT when needed, but Apple’s main goal is to make everyday tasks across apps smarter, not to compete head-on as a standalone chatbot website.
Apple limits Apple Intelligence to newer devices with sufficient on-device compute — generally recent iPhones, iPads and Macs running the latest OS versions.
